An online meeting was held between Latvian and Turkmen transport workers

On December 15, 2023, the Association "Turkmen Logistics" in cooperation with the Latvian Association of Freight Forwarders and Logistics (LAFF) organized an online meeting, which was organized for the aspiration of the Associations of both sides to promote the development of international trade relations and was dedicated to the topic "Trade opportunities between the Baltic States and Turkmenistan: a map to improve cooperation and business relations".

The participants from the Latvian side were representatives of such companies as ACE Logistics Latvia, BV GRUPA, Vervo and MELON company. The Turkmen side was represented by representatives of the "Turkmendenizderyayollary" agency, the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, as well as member companies of the Turkmen Logistics Association: ES "Amatly ýollar", IE "Dawut Ýollary", IE "Eminli Maslahat", ES "Merjen ýol", OJSC "Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan" and IE "Ýükli kerwen" (Kervan Logistics).

After the welcoming words, the first speakers were representatives of the "Turkmendenizderyayollary" agency and the Turkmenbashi International Seaport of, who in their presentations told in detail about the possibilities of this modern seaport on the Caspian coast.

Representatives of Latvian companies emphasized the potential of Turkmenbashi International Seaport as a transit point between Europe and Asia and expressed interest in establishing strong partnerships with Turkmen carriers. In turn, the Turkmen side already during the meeting offered specific tasks for turnkey transportation of cargoes from Europe.

At the end of the meeting, the participants highly appreciated the initiative to organize this meeting. The parties also agreed to organize such events in the future and to share experience in cooperation with the international organization FIATA.
