On October 13, 2023 a meeting was held between the representatives of the «Damen Shipyards Gorinchem B.V.» and representatives of «Turkmendenizderyayollary» agency at the «Turkmendenizderyayollary» agency.

During the meeting, representatives of «Damen Shipyards Gorinchem B.V.» presented in detail their company and the wide range of ships they build in 35 shipyards located on five continents. It is noted that the company builds vessels according to a specific project and produces vessels of all types, including tankers, pilot vessels, dredgers, crew vessels, tugs, yachts, etc.

Turkmen side expressed interest in cooperation in the construction of dredging vessels at the «Balkan» shipbuilding and repairing yard. Company representatives emphasized that the possibility of building at the shipyard using local resources could be a more economically attractive alternative to importing ships. As part of this discussion, the turkmen side requested a commercial proposal and information on the necessary equipment for the construction of a dredging vessel.

In addition, interest was expressed in the potential modernization of the shipyard of the «Deryayollary» JSC in Lebap velayat. This opens up new prospects for strengthening shipbuilding infrastructure and developing shipbuilding in Turkmenistan.
