Dynamics of growth in transportation amounts for 8 months of 2023

The total amount of cargo transportation in January-August 2023 by the vessels of the Marine Merchant Fleet increased by 128,6% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 1.509 million tons. Generally, the plan for cargo transportation for January-August 2023 completed by 130,1%.

Kazakhstan plans to develop a terminal in the Port of Baku

Kazakhstan plans to develop a terminal in the Port of Baku, as announced by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, during round table dedicated to Azerbaijani-Kazakh relations and regional cooperation. This step aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of transport and logistics. The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM), connecting China, Central Asia, and Europe through the Caspian Sea, the South Caucasus, and Turkey, is gaining increasing importance and attracting the attention of various nations. Kazakhstan's President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, emphasized the significance of this route for the country, referring to it as the "primary link" for realizing Kazakhstan's transit and export opportunities.

Turkmenbashi International Sea Port continues actively receive wheat imports, playing a key role in providing the country’s agricultural needs. Cargo arriving from Astrakhan is efficiently distributed between two terminals - the general cargo terminal and the bulk cargo terminal. The general cargo terminal provides efficient unloading and loading services, allowing cargo to move quickly and safely on land. At the bulk cargo terminal, grain crops undergo separation in special grain silos before shipment. The international seaport of Turkmenbashi has 14 modern grain silos with a total capacity of 35,000 m3, which provide optimal storage conditions and humidity control before shipment.

Traveling to Gyzylsuv township

Marine Merchant Fleet operates regular trips between Turkmenbashi and Gyzylsuv on two passenger ships: "Charlak" and "Rovach". The ship "Charlak" starts its trip from Turkmenbashi to Gyzylsuv daily at 11:00 and back at 13:30. The ship "Rovach" starts its trip at 12:00 and returns at 14:30. On summer days, tickets for the “Charlak” ship cost 20 manats one way, but starting from September 1, prices will drop to 15 manats. Tickets for the “Rovach” ship cost 25 manats, and VIP seats cost 38 manats one way. From September 1, ticket prices for "Rovach" will drop to 20 manats, VIP seats to 30 manats.

Ship of the national fleet was repaired at the “Balkan” shipbuilding and repairing yard

In the near future, it is planned to put into operation the tanker "Atamyrat Nyýazow". It is an oil and oil products carrier vessel with the capacity of a 4260 gross tonnage (GT), and was built in 2001. The repair works of this vessel was almost completely carried out by local specialists. The launching into the sea of this tanker will contribute to the growth of exports of oil products of our country.

Turkmenbashi International Sea Port proposes to store cargo without customs duties

The international seaport of Turkmenbashi, being a new port in the Caspian region, has a number of advantages and services for handling cargo. The favorable territorial location of the country and the increasingly active participation of Turkmen carriers and logistics companies in international transportation contribute to a daily increase in the volume of transit cargo. Some transit cargoes transported to the Turkmenbashi seaport are stored in a customs warehouse.
